- COURSE OBJECTIVES
This course focuses on listening and speaking skills.
The listening part focuses not only on comprehension strategies but also on building and refining skills learned through previous courses. Seven listening lessons emphasize extensive note-taking from academic lectures on a variety of topics and critical thinking skills.
The speaking part focuses on students’ communication and language skills related to the types of meetings. Eight lessons of speaking cover the main stages of meetings: from preparation to decision-making and implementation a meeting to help learners not only develop their language skills. but also gain confidence in communicating in different situations. By the end of the course, students will acquire the skills necessary to play an active role in most types of meetings.

Listening test – note taking skills |
Students will listen to a full academic lecture maximum of 10-minute in length and take notes during the listening time. Students will listen the recording three times then have 40 minutes to write the formal note. Assessment as follows: – Introduction: Topic and lecture outline: 3 points. – Body: Main ideas, supporting details: 5 points. – Development of the ideas: 2 points. |
