1. COURSE DESCRIPTION
Accounting information is essential for decision making process as accounting is considered to be the language of business. After finishing financial accounting module, students should be able to comprehend the most fundamentals of accounting. The course describes and illustrates financial accounting concepts and techniques essential to the administration of a business enterprise. The financial accounting module will provide students specific accounting practice of major elements of the financial statements in a merchandising business. The main content will cover items of financial statements such as inventory, cash, receivables, long–lived assets, bonds and other liabilities, and stockholders’ equity as well as disclosure requirements for them in financial reporting. Students will develop the basic technical skills needed to analyze financial statements through ratio analysis for financial analysis purpose.
