1. COURSE OBJECTIVES
Regional Economics is a module designed for students majoring in international economics field. This course introduces students to a variety of theoretical concepts, analytical techniques and relevant policy issues useful for analyzing regions and their economies. Upon the completion of this course, the student shoud be able to
- i) Understand and analyze conditions and problems facing rural areas
- ii) Apply economic theory to firm location and regional distribution of economic theory to firm location and regional distribution off economic activity
iii) Understan basic theories of economic growth
- iv) Evaluate alternative policies and programs for rural development using economic conceps
