1. COURSE OBJECTIVES
On completion of this course, students should be able to
- Understand the multilateral trade system which is represented by the General Agreements and Tariffs and Trade (GATT) and the World Trade Organization (WTO); the system of multilateral trade agreements negotiated under the framework of GATT/WTO.
- Understand the mechanism of regional economic integration, distinguish different types of regional economic integration and apply economic model to analyze the impacts of regional economic integration.
- Evaluate the roles of multinational corporations in the global economy and to the host countries.
- Understand the trade policies of developing countries in the global economy.
