1. COURSE OBJECTIVES
This high-intermediate course focuses on listening and note-taking skills & presentation skills. Students develop their own system for informal note-taking and learn how to rebuild the content of the lecture using their notes in the form of formal notes. Students will be able to make effective presentations by demonstrating such important skills as structuring information, using an appropriate language style, using visual aids, adopting the right body language, using effective linkers, connectors, graphs and charts, emphasizing and minimizing information and the contrast between written and spoken language.
Students learn vocabulary, grammar in the context of the materials used for listening activities, speaking activities and student generated writing. Students must earn a C or better in order to pass the course. Students will be able to know and use Business English vocabulary which is common in oral communication.
